Jesse B. Smith was born on February 24, 1950, in Forest City, Arkansas to the late John B. Smith and the late Jesse Mae Smith. Jesse passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the V.A. hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Jesse was affectionately known as BB. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Forrest City in 1968. After graduating he enlisted in the Navy serving in the Vietnam War. After serving in the Navy, he made Little Rock, Arkansas his home. He worked with Alcoa, then he began his career in all things real estate. He owned a mortgage company and began professionally doing real estate appraisals up until retirement.
BB was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Smith, and Jessie M. Smith, his wife, Gloria J. Smith, his son, Jesse Bernard Smith Jr., his brothers; Clarence Williams, Willie Williams, his sisters; Idella Richardson, Morsie Lee Haggins, Lena Smith, and Jacqueline Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters; Rolysha Smith, and Kenisha Smith; his grandchildren, Jeremy Douglas, and Danielle Douglas, great- grandchildren; Kwali Douglas, Cade Cunning, and Caia Cunning all of Little Rock. His brothers; and sisters; Birda Williams of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Barbara (Melvin) Ivory of Forrest City, Arkansas, Deborah Smith Heard of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Willie (Barbara) Smith, and George Smith all of Little Rock, Arkansas., as well as a host of nieces and nephews and relatives
